WBBL, AFLW boost for Foxtel Group.
The 2024 season of the WBBL has become the most watched ever across Foxtel Group platforms Foxtel, Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go and Binge, up 41% year-on-year, including record streaming audiences. It is the fourth consecutive year of growth.
The Foxtel Group has secured the exclusive broadcast rights for the Weber Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) and the NAB AFLW until 2027, enhancing their sports portfolio. This deal ensures that fans can watch every game of both leagues live on Foxtel and Kayo Sports, with additional coverage on Fox Netball and Fox Cricket channels. The agreement also includes streaming on Foxtel Now and Kayo Freebies, making the sports more accessible. This move is part of Foxtel's strategy to bolster its women's sports offerings, following their recent acquisition of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™ rights. The announcement was made by Rebecca McCloy, Foxtel Group's Executive Director of Sport, highlighting the commitment to showcasing women's sports and providing comprehensive coverage.
