The FIFA Club World Cup, taking place from December 12-22, 2023, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, features seven teams from various football confederations. Manchester City, as the UEFA Champions League winners, are the favorites, but they will face competition from teams like Fluminense from Brazil, Al Ahly from Egypt, and local team Al-Ittihad. The tournament kicks off with a first-round match between Al-Ittihad and Auckland City, followed by second-round games where winners advance to the semifinals. Key matches include Manchester City potentially facing Urawa Red Diamonds or Club León in the semifinals. The event will be broadcast in the U.S. on FOX Sports, with streaming available on FIFA+, and in the UK, it will be shown on TNT Sports. This tournament not only showcases club football's global reach but also serves as a precursor to the expanded 32-team Club World Cup planned for 2025.
