The Spiders haven't had grad-transfer guard B. Artis White through much of the nonconference schedule because of injuries.
B. Artis White, a former standout basketball player at the University of Richmond, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Spiders men's basketball team. White, who played for Richmond from 1982 to 1986, returns to his alma mater after a successful stint as an assistant coach at Notre Dame. His appointment marks a significant homecoming, as he replaces Chris Mooney, who stepped down after 18 seasons. White's hiring was influenced by his deep connection to the university, his understanding of the program's culture, and his extensive coaching experience, which includes stops at major programs like Louisville and Cincinnati. His return is seen as a move to reinvigorate the team with a blend of tradition and modern basketball strategies.
