The Czech Republic advanced to the semi-finals of the United Cup mixed team tournament by defeating Italy 4-1 in their final Group E tie on January 3, 2025, in Sydney. The decisive victory was highlighted by Jiri Lehecka's straight-set win over Lorenzo Sonego, which clinched the tie for the Czechs. Earlier, Petra Kvitova had given her team a strong start by defeating Jasmine Paolini, and the mixed doubles pair of Kvitova and Lehecka sealed the win. This result set up a semi-final clash with the United States, who had previously beaten Great Britain.
