Jamie Graham hoping to emulate granda Paddy when making Ulster elite championship bow
- A PROUD family tradition will continue when Jamie Graham steps between the ropes at this month's Ulster Elite Championships - with the Clonard ace determined to emulate granda Paddy by claiming the featherweight title.
Jamie Graham, a young boxer from Belfast, is set to make his debut in the Ulster Elite Championships, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Paddy Graham, who was a notable figure in Irish boxing. Paddy, who passed away in 2019, was a former Irish champion and a coach at Holy Family Golden Gloves Boxing Club, where Jamie now trains. Jamie, at 19, has been inspired by his grandfather's legacy and aims to honor him by competing in the same championship where Paddy once excelled. Despite the emotional weight of his grandfather's absence, Jamie feels his presence and guidance, especially through the stories and support from those who knew Paddy. Jamie's participation in the championships is not just a personal milestone but also a tribute to his family's boxing heritage.
