The TGL Golf League, co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, introduces a unique format to golf with its inaugural season set for January 2025. This league features a blend of technology and traditional golf, played in a custom-built arena in Florida. The competition involves six teams of three PGA Tour players each, playing 15 regular-season matches followed by playoffs. Key rules include a 40-second shot clock, timeouts, and a 40-minute match duration. The format consists of two sessions: "Triples" where teams play alternate shots, and "Singles" where each player competes in a head-to-head match. The league aims to attract a new audience by offering a faster-paced, tech-infused golf experience, with matches broadcasted on ESPN and ESPN+.
