Former Mets top prospect Amed Rosario signed a one-year deal with the Nationals, joining his sixth organization since his 2017 debut.

Amed Rosario, once a top prospect for the New York Mets, has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, an NL East rival. Rosario, who was traded to the Cleveland Guardians in 2021, had a challenging 2023 season with the Guardians and later the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he struggled with a batting average of .263 and a .675 OPS. Despite these struggles, the 28-year-old shortstop is known for his speed and defensive capabilities, having led the American League in triples in 2022. His move to the Rays, who are known for their ability to develop and maximize player potential, could offer Rosario a chance to rejuvenate his career.
