The game, which saw South Dakota State defeating Montana 23-3, was broadcast on ABC and drew an average viewership of 1.04 million, marking a 29% increase from the previous year's game. This viewership was the highest since 2017, when James Madison played against Youngstown State, showcasing the growing interest in FCS football.
