Jimmie Johnson will have a smaller NASCAR Cup Series schedule this season as he plans to compete in two of the sport's biggest races. Johnson will return to competition by attempting the season-opening Daytona 500 (Feb.

Jimmie Johnson, a seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, will participate in only two races during the 2024 season. He is scheduled to race at Texas Motor Speedway on April 14 and at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26. Johnson, who has transitioned into an ownership role with Legacy Motor Club, will drive the No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE. His participation in these races is part of a broader strategy to balance his racing commitments with his new responsibilities as a team owner, focusing on enhancing the team's performance and competitiveness.
