  • Heading into Super Bowl LIX, Barkley was just 30 yards away from breaking Terrell Davis' long-standing record for the most rushing yards in a single season, including playoffs. Barkley wasted no time, surpassing the mark by reaching 31 yards just before halftime.

Saquon Barkley, the running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, has set a new all-time record for the highest average yards per carry in a single Super Bowl game during Super Bowl LIX. Despite the Eagles' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Barkley's performance was exceptional, averaging 7.1 yards per carry. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by Timmy Smith, who averaged 6.9 yards per carry in Super Bowl XXII. Barkley's record-breaking performance came on 15 carries for a total of 106 yards, showcasing his skill and resilience even in a losing effort.
