D11 elementary robotics competition showcases STEM skills

The D11 Elementary Robotics Competition, held at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs, showcased the skills of over 100 young students from 14 elementary schools as they competed in building and programming robots to navigate obstacle courses. The event, which took place on a Saturday, was not only a platform for students to demonstrate their technical abilities but also an opportunity for them to engage in teamwork and problem-solving. The competition was divided into two divisions, with each team given 30 minutes to complete the course, and awards were given for various achievements, including overall performance, teamwork, and creativity. The event highlighted the growing interest in STEM education among young students and the importance of such competitions in fostering future innovators.
