CNU Cheerleading Heading to NCA College Nationals as Defending Champs

  • Looking for a competition to take her squad to after a previously-attended competition folded, Christopher Newport University head cheerleading coach Erica Flanigan landed on the NCA College Nationals.

The Christopher Newport University (CNU) cheerleading team is set to compete at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, from April 10-14, 2025, as the defending champions in the Advanced Small Coed Division III. The team, which has been practicing since October, is aiming to retain their title after a successful performance last year where they scored 95.3333. Coach Meghan Mullen expressed confidence in the team's preparation and their ability to perform under pressure. The team's journey to nationals includes rigorous training and fundraising efforts, with the goal of not only defending their championship but also setting a new record for the highest score in their division.
