The Grant Thornton Invitational, taking place from December 8-10 at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, marks the first mixed-team event featuring players from both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour since 1999. The tournament will showcase 16 teams, each consisting of one male and one female golfer, competing in various formats over three days: scramble on Friday, foursomes on Saturday, and a modified four-ball on Sunday. Notable participants include Nelly Korda, who will team up with Tony Finau, and other stars like Rickie Fowler, Lexi Thompson, and Justin Rose. The event not only aims to promote gender equality in golf but also offers a $4 million purse, with the winners receiving $1 million. This innovative format and the inclusion of top players from both tours are set to make the Invitational a highlight of the golfing calendar.
