Saudi Arabia has been officially confirmed as the host for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, following FIFA's announcement that the 2030 tournament will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay hosting the opening matches to celebrate the tournament's centennial. This decision marks a significant moment for Saudi Arabia, which has been actively investing in sports to enhance its global image and diversify its economy. The 2034 event will be the first time the Middle Eastern country hosts the men's World Cup, reflecting FIFA's strategy to rotate the tournament among different continents and regions.
