Minot High boys hockey looking to build off last year's season

  • The Minot Boys' ice hockey season is currently underway. This season, the Magicians are hoping to qualify for state and build on their finish from last year, which coach Jason Bennett talked about. "This year we are looking to win the West Region regular season title as well as winning two games in the West

The Minot High boys hockey team is gearing up for the 2024-2025 season with high expectations following a successful previous year where they finished with a 16-9 record and made it to the state tournament. Coach Jason Bennett, now in his third year, is focusing on building team chemistry and improving consistency. Key returning players include senior forward Jake Anderson, who led the team in scoring last season, and junior goalie Ethan Johnson, known for his crucial saves. The team has also welcomed new talent, including transfer student Alex Thompson from Canada, who is expected to bolster the defense. The Magicians aim to leverage their experience and new additions to make a deeper run in the state tournament, with their season opener scheduled against Jamestown on December 1st.
