  • Three major media companies will ask the U.S. Court of Appeals on Monday to reverse a ruling that blocked the launch of their Venu Sports streaming service, arguing that a district court judge was wrong to halt its planned debut on antitrust grounds.

Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery have requested a federal court to lift a temporary restraining order that has delayed the launch of their new sports streaming service, Venu Sports. The companies are seeking to proceed with their plans to offer a platform that would bundle sports content from their respective channels, including ESPN, Fox Sports, and TNT, among others. The legal action stems from a dispute with FuboTV, which claims that the joint venture would monopolize sports content and unfairly disadvantage smaller competitors. The court's decision on this matter could significantly impact the competitive landscape of sports broadcasting and streaming services.
