  • With four competitions done in the International Skating Union (ISU) Short Track World Tour season, her first campaign after a yearlong hiatus, South Korean star Choi Min-jeong said Sunday she is pleased with where she stands.

Olympic short track speed skating champion Choi Min-jeong has expressed satisfaction with her performance in her first season back after taking a break following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. During her hiatus, Choi focused on personal growth and recovery, which she credits for her renewed vigor and improved mental state. Returning to the ice, she competed in the ISU World Cup Short Track series, where she managed to secure a bronze medal in the 1500m event in Beijing, showcasing her enduring competitive spirit. Choi emphasized the importance of mental health in sports, stating that her time away helped her to better manage stress and expectations, allowing her to skate with more freedom and less pressure. Her comeback is seen as a testament to her resilience and dedication to the sport, inspiring many in the skating community.
