TGL, a new tech-infused golf league, is set to launch in January 2025, featuring a unique blend of live action and technology to enhance the viewer experience. The league will consist of six teams, each with three PGA Tour players, competing in a match play format on a virtual course with real grass tees, fairways, and rough, but with a high-tech twist including a massive screen for long shots and a short game complex for chipping and putting. The inaugural season will include 15 matches, with each match lasting two hours, followed by playoffs. TGL aims to attract a younger audience by integrating technology and offering a faster-paced, more engaging golf experience. The league has already secured commitments from top players like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm. Fans can watch TGL matches for free via live streaming on ESPN+ and through various ESPN platforms, with additional coverage on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
