Browns name Tommy Rees OC, potentially opening Kubiak for Seahawks
- The offseason coaching carousel continues, and another name/coaching opportunity is officially off the board. On Tuesday it was announced the Cleveland Browns would be promoting passing game specialist and tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator.
The Cleveland Browns have appointed Tommy Rees as their new offensive coordinator, a move that could potentially open up opportunities for other coaching candidates like Gary Kubiak. Previously, Kubiak was considered for the Browns' OC position, but with Rees now in place, speculation has arisen about Kubiak possibly joining the Seattle Seahawks. This development comes as the Seahawks are in the process of restructuring their coaching staff following the departure of their former head coach, Pete Carroll. Kubiak, with his extensive experience, including a Super Bowl win as a head coach, could be an attractive option for Seattle as they look to revamp their offensive strategy. Meanwhile, Tommy Rees, coming from a role at Alabama, brings a different dynamic to the Browns' offensive playbook, focusing on a blend of pro-style and spread concepts.
