  • A provisional suspension issued to Canadian curler Briane Harris has been lifted "with immediate effect" by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after it found she bears "no fault or negligence" for an anti-doping rule violation last year.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled in favor of Canadian curler Briane Harris, lifting her doping ban after determining that she was not at fault for the presence of Ligandrol, an anabolic agent, in her system. Harris tested positive during the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, leading to a provisional suspension. The CAS panel concluded that the substance was likely ingested inadvertently, possibly through contamination, and there was no evidence of intentional doping. This decision allows Harris to resume her curling career immediately, with her suspension officially lifted.
