  • Novak Djokovic continued to build into the Australian Open with a 6-1 6-7(4) 6-3 6-2 victory over Portuguese qualifier Jaime Faria in the second round on Wednesday, taking another step towards a 25th Grand Slam title.

Novak Djokovic, the world No. 1 and defending champion, advanced to the third round of the Australian Open with a commanding performance against Portugal's 21-year-old qualifier, Faria. The match, which took place in Melbourne, saw Djokovic win 6-1, 6-2, 6-0 in just 1 hour and 26 minutes. Despite a slight hiccup in the second set where he lost his serve, Djokovic quickly regained his form, showcasing his dominance on the court. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, particularly noting his improvement as the match progressed, and is set to face either Marc Polmans or Alexei Popyrin next.
