The 6th Meghalaya Games, held at the State Aquatic Centre in Tura, saw East Khasi Hills (EKH) dominate the swimming competition by securing a total of 51 medals, including 21 gold, 17 silver, and 13 bronze. The event, which took place on January 17, 2024, showcased a high level of competition with EKH swimmers excelling in various events. Notably, swimmers like Toiaibha Lamare, who won gold in the 50m freestyle, and others such as Baladianghun Basaiawmoit, Ibashisha Kharkongor, and Ribokmi Lyngdoh, contributed significantly to EKH's medal tally. The competition was fierce, with swimmers from other districts like West Jaintia Hills and Ri-Bhoi also making their mark, but EKH's overall performance was outstanding, highlighting their prowess in swimming at the state level.
