"Let me win and if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt", remains oath for athletes at Special Olympics Hawaii
The 2025 Special Olympics World Games, set to take place in Oahu, Hawaii, were officially launched with a ceremony at the Hawaii Convention Center, marking the beginning of a three-year countdown. The event aims to inspire local athletes and promote inclusivity, with the theme "Unified in Diversity." The games will feature over 7,000 athletes from more than 170 countries competing in 26 sports. Local Special Olympics athletes, including those from Hawaii, are expected to participate, showcasing their talents and fostering a spirit of unity and acceptance. The launch event included speeches from dignitaries and athletes, emphasizing the importance of the games in promoting a more inclusive society.
