This incident marked the second time Vanderbilt was fined for such an event, having previously been penalized $100,000 for a similar occurrence in 2022. The SEC has a progressive fine structure for these violations, with the first offense costing $100,000, the second $250,000, and any subsequent offenses at $500,000. The policy aims to ensure the safety of players, coaches, and officials by preventing fans from rushing onto the playing surface.
