Haryana's international high jumper Pooja improved upon her own U-18 national record on the third day of the 39th National Junior Championships at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Monday. The 17-year-old Pooja scaled 1.

Pooja from Haryana set a new record in the women's high jump at the 23rd National Junior U20 Federation Athletics Championships held in Lucknow, clearing a height of 1.77 meters. This performance not only won her the gold medal but also surpassed the previous meet record of 1.75 meters set by Khyati Mathur in 2017. Pooja's achievement adds to her growing list of accolades, having previously won a silver medal at the Khelo India Youth Games in Chennai. Her success at the championships highlights her potential as a rising star in Indian athletics.
