The SA20 cricket league employs a unique points system to rank teams, which includes both match results and performance-based bonuses. Here's how it works: Teams earn four points for a win, with the possibility of earning an additional bonus point for either batting or bowling. A team can secure a batting bonus point by scoring 160 runs or more within 20 overs, or a bowling bonus point by taking all 10 wickets of the opposing team. In the event of a tie, each team receives two points. If a match is abandoned or ends in a no-result, both teams are awarded two points each. This system not only rewards victories but also encourages aggressive play and strategic depth in both batting and bowling, influencing the overall standings in the league.
